my dog was recently diagnosed with bone cancer(sniffle)…he was prescribed rimadyl (an anti-inflamatory)…hes been hangn’ in there for about 2 months now, the script is really starting to add up. and being that its simply an anti-inflamatory im wondering if i can substitute it for something over the counter such as advil, tylenol etc….now, im well aware that a vet would never condone this, but im wondering if its a possibility never the less and if so what would be equivalent to 100 mgs of rimadyl?…please, i love my dog very much. and id never sell him short, so im not interested in opinions or speculation… strictly hard facts. your sensitivity and accuracy will be greatly appreciated….also, is there something stronger out there that i can give him(not pain killers)?

Our 10 year old toy poodle has mast cell disease and she needs to make more platelets. Does anyone know any tips? Holistic, anything.
I forgot to say that she’s refusing to eat alot..she really doesn’t want to eat many foods. We think she doesn’t like the smells.

I have a Rottweiler and I know they are prone to bone cancer, so I’d like to know what the signs of it are.

Thanks.

Something other than Hill’s Prescription Diet brands. This cannot be found easily in my area. I would also appreciate if someone has a homemade diet (raw or otherwise) that they have experience with in dogs with bone cancer. I would appreciate details of any homemade diet, as I have zero experience with this. Must be low carb and should be moderate protien and Omega 3 enriched.

what are the causes of bone cancer in dogs and could it be caused by the vaccines that are used for distemper, rabies and other things that dogs get shots for?

I am in shock, my not quite 6 yr old Doberman had to be put to sleep recently after being diagnosed with bone cancer just 3 weeks prior. It escalated so quickly and he was in such pain. Is this common?
