Hi. I have a 9 year old golden retriever, who is just the best dog ever. For the past few days she is limping on her right front foot. My parents took her to the vet on Friday. The vet said that her thought it was bone cancer. In the x-rays though he couldn’t see anything. He gave my dog some medications to see if she could then walk. Its sunday and she’s still limping. She seems fine but i’m worried. They took her to the vet again yesterday, and now he’s thinking it might be bone cancer. I’ll know more tomorrow, but what do you think?

She also has a fever. She seems fine though. She’s just having a hard time walking.

So thanks for answering. I really hope she’ll be fine.

If she has bone cancer, will she live?

I know how much you love your dog And I really hope she turns out to be fine! you said nothing showed on the X-ray. Have you asked your vet if your dog could have arthritis. Will that show on x-rays you should ask your vet to check on that and hopefully it not bone cancer. Our prayer are with you and your dog.

I have a Labrador who was doing the same thing and off her food. The Vet did a House Call, the dog has Osteoarthritis, so the Vet has started a course of injections: Cartrophen Vet which is a disease modifying drug for Osteoarthritis. The course is four injections given one week apart and the Labrador is on the second injection, given Saturday, so far so good. The Labrador is now back barking, washing the face, sticking rear paw in ear and eating again. Likewise the heat from the body has gone! The joints affected are front right wrist and shoulder and rear knee. Best of Luck
