Question by buddy: surgery for transplent of a Prosthesis named HMRS..?
Hi guys.
I need some info about a Prosthesis .
Here is my condition:
I had have bone cancer (Osteosarcoma).& in order to treatment . 20-30cm of my femur has been reselected.
& then somebody else’s femur bone has been transplanted instead of my own.
But 1 month ago a fracture did happened.
So my doc now wants to transplant an Orthopedic Prosthesis for my distal femur named HMRS (Howmedica Modular Replacement System)
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to talk to my doc.
So I have no idea ,
What is it exactly?.
what gonna be my walking condition after the surgery & by this Prosthesis ?
any complication with this Prosthesis..? .
Is there any possibility of fracture with this one either?
Do u know any with same condition..?
Briefly…any any any short info or tip will help. I’m absolutely zero in this area.

Try calling the Cancer Society and asking about a support group for osteosarcoma. People there will most likely know intimately about it. Also, try a physical therapy group; they’ll know more about this system.

Update: 31 January 2010 Vet administered sedation to help her sleep through the IV tube she had in her arm while another vet was cradling her like a little baby. She was snoring real quick. It was funny and made me laugh a little in the midst of streaming tears. They continue with a pinkish lethal liquid which makes her slip away. You can see the life in her eyes becomes motionless, pupils dilated and the body became lifeless almost instantaneously. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on 31 January at 2pm. Im glad finally she will have no more pain and suffering. It was my last respect and tribute to be there for her to see her go. I am emotionally and mentally ready to let go. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ET is sick due to open Pyometra infections in December 2009. A bacteria infection in the womb while she was on heat. She is 8 years old. Old dogs need to be spayed to avoid hormonal complications in later life which I never know. Male dogs will develop prostate cancer while female ones will develop breast cancer and uterus infections (Pyometra). If your dog is not getting better it is getting worse. She was treated with antibiotics without surgery due to her very weak physical condition which may not enable her to pull through otherwise. Finding a good vet with experience and affordable is very time consuming, and proof devastating if you are not getting anywhere especially if you don’t know where to start. There are many vets out there but not all are able to treat your dog

just a old video that i found in the dusty corner of my files :D D [lol i made this in like january :] i saved it untill summer :D D XD sorry i sound really sick!!!
