This is RIley our almost 7 yo beloved golden retriever. He has been a family member since coming home as a little puppy and is the smartest, funniest, most energetic and loving animals we have ever owned. This is a “fatty” benign tumor mass that was surgically removed almost 2 years ago and has since rapidly grown back MANY MANY TIMES the size of what it was originally. It was the size of a softball when we had it removed, now in comparison, almost a watermelon. This mass is spreading rapidly, taking over his entire chest and has recently began growth into his two front fore paw areas. We have taken him to 3 different vets all of which say the same thing, “We can de-bulk it and risk it growing back as it has done and or loose him on the operating table due to the proximity of the arteries possibly hitting one…” I have done hollistic healing, given him monavie juice, various mushroom based supplements with no noticeable results. There MUST be something somebody can do! We love this dog and just lost Riley’s “Wife” Belle, our other very loved golden as well. He is taken care of very well, pampered, always an in-door lap dog and has a great diet. Why can’t he take a chemo pill or something?? IDK… We really hope and pray that someone out there has an answer. We appreciate any positive response towards a favorable outcome with our loving Riley! Thanks!

Question by : I’m worried about my anger management issues and I don’t know what to do? Please help?
I’m a 15 year old girl, and I think I have anger management issues and I’m worried. I always do stupid stuff like this:

My friend insulted my father once in front of my face, and it upset me so i got a saw and started violently sawing this one tree in the park down and ripping up the leaves off and stuff. my friend saw me and told me I have anger problems. Also, when my uncle passed away I punched a wall really hard and I had to go to hospital because I had fractured my knuckle bone or something. And when my sports instructor found out he had cancer I punched a hole through a door. Another time, I smashed a glass window because my sister was hurting my dog (she’s 8 and she didn’t realize what she was doing) and she was laughing and wouldn’t stop when I told her to.

Its weird because I’m rarely affected by what people think of ME. If they insult ME, I don’t care. I usually get this build-up of anger when I feel like my friends/family are at risk.

Well, I live next to the river, so I used to use rowing as a sport in which I could unleash all my emotions. Like, every time I felt the need to punch something, I would go out on the water and row until I wanted to die. Literally. Once my dad had to call the ambulance because I collapsed due to over working myself when I went rowing. Ever since I collapsed my father banned me from rowing, but I still do it occasionally when times are really bad, but he thinks I quit ages ago. And since I’ve stopped rowing as much as I did before, I’ve started smashing up things, its really bad… and I honestly try so hard to stop myself but I just can’t.

I never inflict pain on anybody. I don’t even shout at anyone, its just that all this anger builds up inside me all at once and I have to let it out on something, even if it means destroying things. I don’t just smash up any old object, I usually run as far as I can until I run out of breath and then I unleash all this anger. I don’t know what to do.. I’ve been told that I need to sort myself out.

Talk to your parents about getting counseling from a psychiatrist. It’s unlikely that you will be able to “sort yourself out” because it usually takes someone who is not emotionally involved to find the root cause.

That said, techniques such as meditation, misogi, and chinkon can sometimes help.

Question by : Please tell me what’s wrong with my dog! ?
She went missing for about an hour when we let her outside. She had thrown up once earlier, and then in three big spots that we didn’t know about until she went missing. We found her in some weeds, and she’s not looking too good. Also, the three spots looked like she had eaten a pork bone.

She’s had diarrhea off and on for a while now. And she stinks, which I’ve been told is a sign of cancer. She’s also about ten years old.

Please don’t lecture me on the financial responsibility with pets. We had money for the vet when we got her, and for most of her life; we just don’t now, and nobody wants to adopt an old dog.

Answer by Renee100
Do you feed her human food? Most food gives dogs diarrhoea, cause vomitting and bad skin conditions.

some seriously bad foods include: Avacado, Bones, fish, poultry, other meat, chocolate, tea, coffee, caffiene, citris oil extract, macadamia nuts, milk, dairy products, pits from peaches and plums, raw eggs.

Question by K: DS: Early or late spaying? *Please help*?
I am planning to buy a female German Shepherd and I have heard lots of stuff from lots of websites and forums.
I’ve heard that dogs spayed at 6 months grow way taller then normal and have more brittle bones because they needed their hormones. So because of that, Hip Dysplasia chances are increased and that’s like a doubly whammy to a GSD.
But if they are spayed before their first/second heat, the chances of mammary cancer is reduced significantly.

I’ve also hears that dogs that are spayed around 1-2 years old are better physically and emotionally.
Though the chance of mammary cancer is 1 in 4.

SO, what would you guys do and recommend?
Crap, another source says that when spayed, the growth hormones are slowed so bones get stronger?

Answer by Domo San
I’ve spayed my female morkie [maltese yorkie mix] right on her 6th month mark. before she started on her heat. She’s healthy and happy. My gf spayed her dog on her 3rd year and she has a maltese. So I don’t know. It is beneficial either way. So get your dog spayed. =]

Question by rosy_cheeks: I just want to tell you how my pet life is going. Everyone please read!?
The first pet I had was a Maltese(my grandparents’ actually) I’ve known her since I was a baby. She LOVED me SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!! Than one Christmas Eve she died of a dog flu.

The second pet I got was a little kitten that I got for my 9th B-day. She was the sweetest. When I was about to got to school my mom and I honked the horn just to make sure the kitten wasn’t underneath the car. After 3 times we decided to start the car. I went over to the deck and called for (Angel). I saw what I thought was some white fuzzy stuff that Angel played. When I picked it up it was soft. I told my mom and she “Alex Angel went crawling under the bush, I think she got hit in the moter.” We took Angel to the clinic and the vet said she had to be put to sleep.

The third pet I had was a Doberman Pincher. She was the best. All I can say is she died at the age of 11 from bone cancer.

The fourth pet I had was another Doberman Pincher. He had heart worm disease. He had to be put to sleep.

Question by : Is there a good chance my swollen lymph node is not cancer? Please help?
I am 20, found lump on left side of neck 4 months ago( December 2010). It can only be felt NOT seen. Anyway, I went to my doctor this week Monday, he took some blood work(Monday), I was given antibiotics(Monday 7 day course of meds), was prescribed nasal allergies( I do have VERY bad allergies I am allergic to everything environmental and foods and have indoor and out door allergies, plus I own a dog and was breaking out in hives for 2 years, but this year it stopped and I am asthmatic) and I did a chest X-ray on Tuesday, and now I am anxiously awaiting results. To get to my point the lymph node that I have in my neck tends to get bigger then smaller, bigger then smaller. Like its never fully gone. Last week monday I woke up with a sore throat and the lymph node/ lump in my neck was VERY swollen and shapely like it had dimensions. Now today it feels much flatter, softer, and harder to feel, but its still there. What are my chances that its nothing serious? I do have a habit of touching it ALOT, but am trying to stop. Also the same day I came from my doctor I found two more swollen lymph nodes. One in my neck and the other above my collar bone all on the left side. Plus I have been sick for a week with a runny congested nose, a small cough, sore throat and tongue, and mucus was coming up yellow( sry to be descriptive).

This is going to be my last time asking these questions and I don’t want to come off as a hypochondriac. I just need reassurance as this is a difficult time for me. I haven’t even told my family what’s going on in my life right now. My doctor wants to send me to an ENT( Ear, nose and throat doctor) if it doesn’t go away in two weeks after I finish my antibiotics. I think the part that bothers me the most was the fact my doctor had a worried look on his face he was trying to hide. It wasn’t until I asked him “What’s worse case scenario?” He brought up the “C” words.

When I was 13 I had and still have a swollen lymph node.

My doctor said it is just from my cold. it is all the mucus and crap stuck there.

drink lots and lots of fluids. I still have mine there but it doesn’t hurt or swell up as big unless I get really sick.

GO TO THE DOCTOR. lol

I’m going to need a biopsy, but it’s nothing to really worry too much about, but you still need to get it checked out.

Best of luck to you :D

Swollen lymph nodes almost never mean cancer. It usually means you are fighting off an infection or virus. You describe having a respiratory infection, so rest assured that is what the problem is.

How do you know they are cancerous? Have they been examined by a vet? If not, you should get them checked out ASAP. Cancerous tumors can be removed successfully if they are caught in time; if you let it go on too long they will spread internally.

Question by iluvvinny: What do you think i should do with my dog PLEASE HELP?
My dog was diagnosed with osteosarcoma about a week ago. He has had the tumor on his leg and has limped for a little while now but we had got him pain killers because of this. They aren;t working and he also has limes disease. He is about 8 years old and a Rottweiler, he is very sweet. sometimes he cant hold his pee and sometimes he cant eat. do you think it is time to put him to sleep before he gets wayyyy worse and uncomfortable? The vet said as the tumor grows it weakens the bone and it will snap in half if he walks on it enough. Would you put him to sleep soon?
he seems happy during the day but sad at night, and he sleeps alot and drinks alot of water
even though he doesnt SHOW pain i know he prob. still has it, i should put him down even if he seems happy because thats the best for him right?
we do have the pain killers for him and his lyme disease pills, but they dont help
