7 Things You Didn’t Know About PETA 1) According to government documents, PETA employees have killed more than 19200 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens since 1998. This behavior continues despite PETA’s moralizing about the “unethical” treatment of animals by farmers, scientists, restaurant owners, circuses, hunters, fishermen, zookeepers, and countless other Americans. PETA puts to death over 90 percent of the animals it accepts from members of the public who expect the group to make a reasonable attempt to find them adoptive homes. PETA holds absolutely no open-adoption shelter hours at its Norfolk, VA headquarters, choosing instead to spend part of its million annual income on a contract with a crematory service to periodically empty hundreds of animal bodies from its large walk-in freezer. 2) PETA president and co-founder Ingrid Newkirk has described her group’s overall goal as “total animal liberation.” This means the complete abolition of meat, milk, cheese, eggs, honey, zoos, aquariums, circuses, wool, leather, fur, silk, hunting, fishing, and pet ownership. In a 2003 profile of Newkirk in The New Yorker, author Michael Specter wrote that Newkirk has had at least one seeing-eye dog taken away from its blind owner. PETA is also against all medical research that requires the use of animals, including research aimed at curing AIDS and cancer. 3) PETA has given tens of thousands of dollars to convicted arsonists and other violent criminals. This includes a 2001

We adopted her right here, and yesterday, we got another dog from Nancy — “Buddy”. And Buddy… we we’re sure how Buddy and Sophie would get along; But you guys will be seeing some little clips of them. Thank you, Nancy, for just touching our hearts and our lives and just bringing in these two dogs. Nancy is a true entrepreneur here in Oxnard, and she’s done so many things for the community. Question by Connor P: Would osteosarcoma of the rib show up on a rib series x-ray?
Long story short, I found a painless lump on one of my ribs about a month ago, it’s hard like bone, and I’ve had 2 x-rays done. The most recent one was a rib series and the doc looked over them with the radiologist and said that they looked completely normal, and to come back in 3 weeks for a follow up. So if osteosarcoma were advanced enough to have a significant lump, would it show up on a rib series x-ray?

Thanks.

Truman is our beautiful now 10 year old son, who was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, bone cancer when he was 9 in June of 2009. He has endured a punishing year of chemo and on October 29th, 2009 he had his right leg amputated above the knee to battle the cancer. Here he is doing some airbending in the talent show at the Lighthouse Family Retreat in Grayton Beach at the Gulf of Mexico, he is so brave, he did AWESOME!
